Earlier this evening I laid down the foundation for the first chapter of A Kind of Drug. A thousand words really isn't much, but it's easily the most difficult part of any massive undertaking. It's also the fourth or fifth time I've written the beginning to the book, but now that I've figured out how I plan on telling the story, this new version feels so much more secure than any of the previous ones.

I still need to write Buddha the Destroyer for the Single Sentence series, but the first bits of A Kind of Drug have been poking at my head for weeks now and really needed to get out. Maybe once I get done with a couple dozen pages, I'll go back and knock Buddha out before returning to the world of AKOD.

Heh heh. Knock Buddha out. That's a good one.
