And no, not the massage parlor type of "happy ending" where some 19-year old, Asian sex-slave beats you off for an extra $30. God, you're such a freaking pervert sometimes, you know that? No, this is another standard, AKOD happy ending. Where at the chapter's conclusion, things are looking just a little more up for all the main characters. It's when, after all the crap that happens to them throughout the chapter, there's just a glimmer of hope that they might get exactly what they want. BWAHAHAHA!! God, I'm hilarious. Though, in the grand scheme of all AKOD chapter endings, it probably is one of the happier ones. Simply because no one gets raped, sent to prison, or murdered. For this book, that's like a goddamn Easter parade or something. Next week starts starts off a new chapter. And yes, Wrath will be just as cheery as you all are imagining. Cheers for now. Add Comment If you've been reading AKOD since the beginning, this isn't the first time you've seen one of these parts. It happened in Sloth. It happened in Delirium. And I'm sure it'll happen again. It's the "single conversation that spans 15 fucking pages" part. Which means that you're getting half of it now and getting half of it next time. It sort of just up and ends in the middle of everything, with absolutely nothing tied up at all. Caaauuuuuse......I'm a dick. There's also bunnies in this section. And Beatrice. And lies. World's collide in today's update of AKOD. The formerly mentioned Beatrice goes on a journey to discover the magical land of talking bunnies. The adventures they have together are groundbreaking and utterly fantastic. Aaaand thennn...... Sing along with me now! There are naked girls Who've all been raped Our characters They lose their shit! Some little dude Gets shot in the face And the story builds up To learn about Sloth! In case anyone is wondering, you should really read my one sentence bio to the right. It's sort of true. As you'll all soon discover, the next few chapters of AKOD are going to be a road trip of sorts. It's the slow, happy journey our narrator makes with his companions as he moves from upstate New York all the way down to central Florida. On the way, they meet and befriend a family of magical bunnies. And It's those bunnies that point our heroes the way of the gumdrop forest. Nah, don't worry. There's still just lots of rape and death. Huzzah! In a little bit of coincidental poetry, Delirium VII debuts today, on this day of the Autumnal Equinox. So the fall of the world begins with the fall of the season. How cute. Though I would like to state that Chapter 6 - Despair will NOT be the final chapter of the book. Even though, yes, the world is ending, the narrator still has quite a journey ahead of him until he ends up on a little boat in the middle of the Atlantic. In fact, Chapter 6 only marks the midway point of the novel. I haven't even come close to finishing up. So get your bunnies and your Beatrice outfits and your Thai food ready. Cause this is when shit starts getting real. For those of you who read these updates, you know that I've recently been frustrated with my writing over the last few parts of AKOD. I've had to continually scrap and rewrite the material which has put my way further behind where I'd like to be with the book. Also, going back and re-reading some of the previously posted pages (say that 5 times real fast), I'm still not 100% happy with what got posted. So, I'd like to be the first to say that I'm sorry and I hope from here on in I'll be able to deliver the quality of work that everyone had gotten used to during the first couple chapters of the book. If you don't feel that way, then great. Ignore the apology. Carry on. With all that said, Delirium Part III really is old school. It's a "stand-alone" story that's once again told in the third person rather than the first. There's death. There's arrests. There's crazy people. There's even a little bit of sexual assault. And I guess if I'm going old school, I should also say there's bunnies and a minx named Beatrice. (Oh, you may also notice that it's a cannibalization of another one of my short stories.) After you've read Delirium III, any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. And enjoy. I think of a few of you have actually started to read these posts. Which means I'm gonna have to start paying attention what I say in here. Which sort of sucks. You're all assholes. I'm not off to a good start, am I? Whatever. Acceleration begins today. It contains more cheery, uplifting prose that's lighthearted and ends with a positive message. And bunnies. Lots and lots of bunnies. Of course, I'm lying again. At least one person dies. And other people have inappropriate sex. Some become criminals. So, once again, enjoy the Friday pick-me-up. Yay! A Kind of Drug's longest chapter - Hilarity - concludes today with Part VII. As usual, nothing even remotely hilarious happens over the course of the few pages. Why name the sickest and most depressing piece of work I've ever written 'Hilarity'? Cause I'm a dick, that's why. Maybe I'll write a chapter called Bunnies & Roses where people just get continually poked in the eye. Sounds about my speed. This portion of of the chapter begins to take the book in a radical new direction. I thought to myself the other day "Why make everyone miserable and sad and dumb? Let's make them happy!" So, all the characters are now bunny rabbits and they spend all day hopping around in a field of clover. I am also a liar. So, do enjoy part 4 of Rapture wherein one of the characters commits suicide! Hooray bunnies! |
