If you've been reading AKOD since the beginning, this isn't the first time you've seen one of these parts. It happened in Sloth. It happened in Delirium. And I'm sure it'll happen again. It's the "single conversation that spans 15 fucking pages" part. Which means that you're getting half of it now and getting half of it next time. It sort of just up and ends in the middle of everything, with absolutely nothing tied up at all. Caaauuuuuse......I'm a dick. There's also bunnies in this section. And Beatrice. And lies. 1 Comment Today, two things happen. First, it is roughly the 7 month anniversary since the beginning of A Kind of Drug's serialization. Wooo? Two, Delirium IV is now live. It's a little shorter than most segments, but it was either that or release a huge, 10-page segment. And, let's be honest, I'm not exactly at the point in my life where I can write 10, polished, finished pages of work in one week. So, 4.5 pages it is. And at this point, you're probably asking yourself - "Where's this lapdance you mentioned in the title?" Good question. In fact, I'd like to ask you the same thing. Where is my goddamn lapdance? You fucking liars. I hate you all. Today, Chapter 4 of A Kind of Drug concludes with Acceleration Part VI. I know Acceleration has been a bit of a departure from the book's previous 3 chapters, but that's because there is a LOT going on in the world of AKOD. And sometimes writing a 40-page history about a guy fucking his step-daughter just doesn't exactly play all the right cards. Though it does play all the fun ones. Expect Chapter 5 to begin in two weeks on August 12th. Next week I'll have a special surprise for you all: A baby cow named Burger. And if you believe that, I'll tell you another one. Those of you who have been following AKOD from the beginning might have noticed that Acceleration had been lacking something as of late. A little signature theme maybe. A regular, running motif, you might say. And I would tend to agree with you. So, in Acceleration Part V, I turned back the clocks and gave you what you'd all been missing: A little bit of of death, rape, and child abuse. YEAH! But don't worry, to keep your spirits up, something very positive happens as well. And that's.....that's.... That's a lie. This is old school AKOD. Positivity is for suckers. I think of a few of you have actually started to read these posts. Which means I'm gonna have to start paying attention what I say in here. Which sort of sucks. You're all assholes. I'm not off to a good start, am I? Whatever. Acceleration begins today. It contains more cheery, uplifting prose that's lighthearted and ends with a positive message. And bunnies. Lots and lots of bunnies. Of course, I'm lying again. At least one person dies. And other people have inappropriate sex. Some become criminals. So, once again, enjoy the Friday pick-me-up. Yay! This portion of of the chapter begins to take the book in a radical new direction. I thought to myself the other day "Why make everyone miserable and sad and dumb? Let's make them happy!" So, all the characters are now bunny rabbits and they spend all day hopping around in a field of clover. I am also a liar. So, do enjoy part 4 of Rapture wherein one of the characters commits suicide! Hooray bunnies! |
