I'll be honest, I can't believe how far along I am in this novel. With Mythmaker I now live, we are now totally in the home stretch. I mean, we're talking about 14 weeks, TOPS, left till A Kind of Drug wraps up forever. And yes, 14 is still a ways away, but considering today's update brings us to #61, it definitely means it's coming near the end. But don't worry. Things are not going to really calm down before it all ends. In fact, it's gonna get a little bananas in this here chapter. Just give it a couple more weeks. Though I don't think there'll be any of that good ol' fashioned rape or infanticide. Hm. I might have to work on that. Add Comment World's collide in today's update of AKOD. The formerly mentioned Beatrice goes on a journey to discover the magical land of talking bunnies. The adventures they have together are groundbreaking and utterly fantastic. Aaaand thennn...... Sing along with me now! There are naked girls Who've all been raped Our characters They lose their shit! Some little dude Gets shot in the face And the story builds up To learn about Sloth! In case anyone is wondering, you should really read my one sentence bio to the right. It's sort of true. As you'll all soon discover, the next few chapters of AKOD are going to be a road trip of sorts. It's the slow, happy journey our narrator makes with his companions as he moves from upstate New York all the way down to central Florida. On the way, they meet and befriend a family of magical bunnies. And It's those bunnies that point our heroes the way of the gumdrop forest. Nah, don't worry. There's still just lots of rape and death. Huzzah! Despair is obviously a chapter where a lot of bad things happen. I mean, if I wrote a chapter called "Rapture" where people attempt suicide, what's really to be expected from one called "Despair"? Usually, the chapters have moments of levity in them. Or humor. Or whatever. But I always envisioned Despair to be the big shitstorm to end all shitstorms. So when I make these updates and constantly say "Yeah, things get worse" well, I'm just starting to feel like an repetitive asshole. Even more than usual. After Despair, it'll go back to it's sort of normal "bad things happen, but so do other things, too" motif. In fact, chapter 7 (Sloth) is going to contain a segment involving a very long, philosophical discussion about the nature of Words. And I apologize in advance for the lack of rape during that segment. I'll see what I can fit in. Those of you who have been following AKOD from the beginning might have noticed that Acceleration had been lacking something as of late. A little signature theme maybe. A regular, running motif, you might say. And I would tend to agree with you. So, in Acceleration Part V, I turned back the clocks and gave you what you'd all been missing: A little bit of of death, rape, and child abuse. YEAH! But don't worry, to keep your spirits up, something very positive happens as well. And that's.....that's.... That's a lie. This is old school AKOD. Positivity is for suckers. | J.E. Tobal
